Over 15,000 rides from Newport Transit Station to Minnesota State Fair
Metro Transit officials report that 15,092 transit riders used the Newport Transit Station Park and Ride lot as a state fair park and ride this year. This is the second year that the transit station was used as a fair park and ride. Preliminary numbers show that overall transit ridership to the fair increased 4.73 percent

Newport Transit Station to be 2017 State Fair park and ride
After last year’s success, the Newport Transit Station will be offering express service to the Minnesota State Fair again this year. Fair-goers can park at the transit station and ride round trip to the fairgrounds a small fare. Details regarding service frequency and hours of operation are coming soon.
